Periodontal disease is infections of the gums and bone that surround
the teeth. The primary cause is plaque - the sticky accumulation
of bacteria. There are two stages of periodontal disease - gingivitis
which affects the gums and periodontitis which is more advanced
and involves the surrounding bone.
Dr. Loecker can examine your mouth and determine if you have
any disease present, and if so, to what extent. She will then
recommend the appropriate treatment depending upon the extent
of the disease found during the examination.
